Let the adventure begin
It’s been a really really long few days, the final day of packing/loading the Uhaul, then the actual drive to North, got on the road Thursday and did about 4.5 hours and then stopped for the night at a friends, and then Friday did the remainder, it was a very long day on small back roads, very few highways, or two lane roads, not the best drive. My driver and I were both tired from a long week and lack of sleep and these last few days have just pushed us to the limits. But we arrived safely to the new location town and spent the night at a hotel, just to get up early on Saturday morning and head to the space. With the help of some moves, we were unloaded in a record 33 minutes….helps with a small truck, not a ton of stuff and a very organized packer…It was great. My driver spend the day doing all the little things getting me set up and things working and organized on their end and I spent the day pushing every last limit in my body wanting to just keep going and keep going, while I was definitely not the energize bunny, I was determined to keep doing one more thing, one more thing and by the end of the night, I was about 80% unpacked and the driver was able to set up the shelves in my garage and take out the totes and then breakdown all of the boxes for the recycling so it was a very very productive day.
Didn’t sleep well, sometimes you’re so tired, and need to sleep, but just cant…that we me last night, just exhausted but too tired to sleep. Had an early morning to take the drive to the airport so they can return home and then it was just me. It was strange and exciting and weird and exhilarating and odd all at the same time.
I stopped at Target on the way home for some storage solutions and then later in the day did a Walmart run for the items I couldn’t find at Target and to do a grocery haul….and in between I finished unpacking and putting up/away all of the stuff I bought today.
Buying a couch is a priority, I have two camp chairs I am using in my living room and while its nice to have a place to sit other than my bed or my work desk, they are only comfortable for a short period of time and then you have to get up, which is good and bad.
But the space is great, I really like it, it feels homey and comfortable and I am excited to start this new adventure.
CJ and I have been able to talk, text, and voice memo, but have not been able to ‘see’ each other over video due to the traveling, schedules and just life at the moment, but hopefully soon we will be able to see each other and move forward.
I am here and waiting and I want nothing more than this adventure to begin.
